Overview of GNM

The Full form of GNM is General Nursing and Midwifery. GNM Nursing course is a 3-year 6-month diploma-level course with a mandatory internship for 6 months. General Nursing and Midwifery or GNM, focuses on providing skills and knowledge related to patient care and clinical treatment.

The eligibility criteria for admission to the West Bengal GNM Nursing Training course on the Academic Year Entrance examination depends upon two factors: Educational Qualification and the other is Age limit.

The candidate must be a citizen of India and a permanent resident of the District of West Bengal.

10+2 with English and must have obtained a minimum of 40% at the qualifying examination and English individually for any recognized board. Candidates are also eligible for State Open Schools recognized by the State Government and the National Institute of Open Schools (NIOS) recognized by the Central Government. However, Science is preferable.

10+2 with English having 40% of marks in Vocational Stream-Health care Science from a recognized CBSE board/Centre.

Student shall be medically fit.
